New Project: Wag'N Wheels Appalachian Animal Rescue

10/22/2012

Picture
In response to an article published in The Columbus Dispatch regarding the euthanasia rates across Ohio's county-run animal shelters, we have decided to work to assist animals and shelters in Appalachia. Tragically, the euthanasia rates in some Appalachian counties was dramatically higher than other counties across the state. Due to this report, volunteers at Grandma's Gifts decided to make a difference by assisting  these animal shelters.

Through the Wag'N Wheels project, volunteers and donors will provide animal transport services, veterinarian assistance, pull fees, and supplies such as blankets, raised dog beds, dewormer, bleach and  other cleaning products to Appalachian animal shelters, rescues, and pounds.

If you are interested in getting involved by making a donation, offering your time and vehicle to transport an animal, or are interested in adopting a furry friend, please visit our new website: appalachianrescue.org
