Grandma's Gifts Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that provides goods, services, and opportunities to people in-need who reside in Appalachia Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Grandma's Gifts was founded in memory of Norma Ackison of Ironton, Ohio in 1993, by her 11 year old granddaughter, Emily Douglas. Since 1993, the organization has helped over 2.5 Million people in Appalachia donating over $12.7 Million in goods and opportunities.

  • We started a NEW project called Wag'N Wheels: Appalachian Animal Rescue and have successfully donated more than $2,500 in goods to Appalachian dog pounds as well as rescued and placed 12 dogs!
  • Through our generous donors, we were able to purchase goods for 29 children who were in need this Christmas. They all received a hat, gloves, coat, jeans, shirts, socks, sweatshirt, and a new toy, book, or game!
  • In November, we took the entire second grade of a southern Ohio elementary school to the Newport Aquarium in Newport, Kentucky! WHAT FUN!
  • We provided $600 in scholarships to the Academy of Excellence, a two week, hands on learning experience for talent and gifted  children in Appalachia. This program focuses on everything from the arts, literature, and STEM! Learn more on the project page here!
